Switzerland has no shortage of advertising agencies: close to 350 advertising and marketing agencies compete for Swiss briefs.
Picking one is harder than it sounds. A single national campaign can need German, French and Italian versions, and the agency you hire has to deliver all three to the same standard.
This guide compares ten of them on creative awards, named Swiss clients, channel coverage and language reach, so you can shortlist two or three for your next pitch.
We scored each agency on five criteria, chosen to reflect what Swiss marketing teams need to check before they sign an agency:
| Criterion | What counts as evidence |
|---|---|
| Recent creative recognition | ADC Switzerland, Effie, Edi or m&k Kreativranking results from 2024 to 2026 |
| Verifiable client work | A named client on a live case page or in Swiss trade press |
| Channel breadth | Creative, media, performance and measurement handled in-house |
| Language and market reach | Delivery in more than one Swiss language region or across European markets |
| Stability and transparency | Disclosed ownership, headcount, certifications and recent restructuring |
Disclosure: Fieldtrip publishes this article and is included in this list. We suggest weighing its placement the same way you would any other entry.

thjnk Zürich is an owner-led agency for marketing strategy and integrated communication, working from a former stationery factory in Zurich's Kreis 4. Founded in 2016, it took the Grand Prix at the ADC Switzerland Awards 2026 for its "Ortsschilder" campaign for the Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund, one of five awards for that work.
On its own site, the agency also reports being the most successful single agency at Effie Switzerland 2024 and opening a dedicated brand design unit in July 2026. Its RAIIN Studio produces AI imagery and AI-generated characters in-house.
Jung von Matt Schweiz describes itself as an independent creative ecosystem, with over 100 staff and roots in Zurich since 1993, according to its Leading Swiss Agencies profile. The group bundles specialist units, including JvM Limmat for campaigns and JvM Impact for paid media, SEO and analytics.
In September 2026, JvM Limmat relaunched Ricola's "Wer hat's erfunden?" slogan across TV, social, print, out-of-home, radio and point of sale, adding a marmot mascot called Ric. Its platform certifications include Google, Meta, Microsoft Advertising and HubSpot partner status.
Fieldtrip is a full-service agency that runs strategy, creative, media and measurement as one system, with small autonomous teams per client. It has no Swiss office; Swiss brands work with it remotely.
Its published work includes scaling performance creative for Nestlé through UGC production and paid social, a European program delivered in seven languages with creator whitelisting on TikTok and Meta, and a 19-country acquisition program that cut CPA by 37%.
Media coverage spans paid social, search, programmatic, connected TV and out-of-home, and the agency reports moving new clients into audit and planning within 10 to 15 business days.
Havas Switzerland runs two "villages" in Geneva and Zurich, with 65 specialists across creative, media, customer experience and sports marketing. Each year it publishes the Brand Predictor, which the agency describes as Switzerland's largest brand perception study, rating over 400 brands across 30 categories.
Its work page lists Nespresso, Cailler, CANAL+ Suisse, the Geneva Opera House and GVA Airport, and its Havas Play unit managed the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup sponsorship program in Barcelona.
Wirz Group, founded in 1936, is one of Switzerland's oldest advertising agencies and positions itself as a "Creative Business Partner" focused on brand value and growth. It is owner-led, with 50 to 100 staff in Zurich, and covers branding, employer branding, moving image and digital transformation.
In October 2026 the agency confirmed staff cuts after Migros reduced part of a long-standing mandate, while stating that it still works for Migros. Buyers should ask how the restructuring affects team continuity.
Serviceplan Suisse sits inside the House of Communication Zurich alongside the media agency Mediaplus, so creative and media planning share one building and one structure. The wider Serviceplan Group calls itself Europe's largest independent, partner-led agency group, with 43 locations in 24 countries.
The Swiss office uses House of AI, the group's own platform for integrating AI agents and tools into its workflows. It holds Google, Meta and Microsoft Advertising partner status, which matters for buyers who want one team accountable for creative and paid placement.
Webrepublic is an owner-led Zurich agency with more than 200 specialists across strategy and consulting, performance and automation, media and campaigning, content and creative, and data and technology. It positions itself as a national alternative to multinational networks.
It plans media around impact metrics such as ad recall, tracked continuously across a campaign, an approach shown in its AMAG video case. Founded in 2009, it holds Google, Meta, Microsoft Advertising and HubSpot partner status and an EcoVadis rating.
Rod Kommunikation is a Zurich agency founded in 2007 that works out of a villa in the city centre and focuses on campaigns, PR and strategic communication. Its client roster spans regulated and public-interest work, including the Federal Office of Public Health's LOVE LIFE campaign, Rega, Pro Juventute, IP-SUISSE and Denner.
In April 2026 it launched a private-client campaign for Zürcher Kantonalbank built on a single answer: "Ja". Rod is also a member of the Swiss Public Affairs Society.
TBWA\Zürich is the Swiss office of the TBWA network, founded in 1998, with 50 to 100 staff. It works with the network's Disruption methodology, a structured process for finding the convention a brand should break.
Its most visible client relationship is with Coop, for which it produces seasonal platforms such as the "TSCH TSCH" grilling campaign, the "Magischer Winter" collector promotion and the 2025 Christmas film told from the view of a can of peas. The agency specialises in moving image and content marketing.
Agence Trio, founded in 1931 in Lausanne, calls itself the oldest communications agency in Switzerland and the most French-speaking of the national agencies. Through MYTY Group it works with sister agencies to extend campaigns into German-speaking Switzerland and abroad.
Its work list includes CFF Immobilier, Pax, net+ and the Fondation Etoile filante. In 2026 the agency donated its advertising archive to the Lausanne cantonal and university library, and long-time director Michael Kamm stepped down after more than 20 years. It is a Google, Meta and HubSpot partner.
An advertising agency plans and produces campaigns for a brand and plans and buys the media that runs them. Swiss agencies fall into five broad types:

Swiss agencies usually charge between CHF 120 and CHF 250 per hour, with senior strategy and creative at the top of that range. No current public survey of Swiss agency rates exists. None of the ten agencies above publishes its rates.
The fee model matters as much as the hourly rate.
| Fee model | How it works | Typical rate level |
|---|---|---|
| Team rental | A fixed team for a defined scope over a longer period, for example one year; works best from about 2.5 full-time staff | Lower hourly rates, because the agency's workload is guaranteed |
| Fixed project fee | A quote for a short, clearly defined project, often with a clause that pre-approves extra effort (for example 10%) | Fixed in the quote, based on an hour estimate or a flat fee |
| Time and materials | Agreed hourly rates billed as work accrues, with or without a cost cap; suits agile projects where deliverables aren't fixed | Relatively high hourly rates |
For ongoing work, monthly retainers typically run CHF 2,000 to CHF 10,000+, with media spend billed separately.

Choose a Swiss agency by checking where each language version is produced, whether it has an office in the regions you target, and whether its strengths match your channel mix.
A national campaign usually has to work in at least two of the country's four national languages, so use these checks before you sign:

The right Swiss advertising agency depends on the language regions your campaign must reach, the channels that drive your sales, and the proof you need before you sign. Shortlist two or three agencies that fit, ask each for a named Swiss case study, and compare fee models before you compare hourly rates.
If your brand sells across Swiss regions and other European markets, Fieldtrip runs creative, media and measurement as one team, with creator-led content produced in the languages each market speaks.
Talk to Fieldtrip about a scoped audit before you commit to a full retainer.
Switzerland has four national languages: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. Campaigns should reflect the language preferences of each target region. German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Romandy, and Italian-speaking Ticino require different localization approaches. Swiss government guidance explains these regional differences.
Yes, when their commercial nature isn't immediately obvious. The Swiss Fairness Commission's advertising standards require influencer marketing to be recognisable, including compensated partnerships. Clear labels such as #ad or #Werbung help identify sponsored content, including partnerships involving free products or other compensation.
Only when the claim meets Switzerland's Swissness requirements. Food generally requires 80% Swiss raw materials, while industrial products require 60% Swiss manufacturing costs and essential production in Switzerland. Exceptions apply, including narrowly defined references to individual Swiss production activities under clarified 2026 guidance.
It depends on the channel. Switzerland's Federal Act on Data Protection doesn't require consent for every instance of personal data processing. However, Swiss advertising rules generally require prior opt-in consent for marketing emails, with exceptions for existing customers receiving promotions for similar products. Businesses must provide an easy unsubscribe option.
